Objectives of the Course To learn the basic principles and concepts of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS); to comprehend the legal framework and legal dimensions of OHS; to learn basic prevention methods against occupational accidents and diseases; to acquire knowledge about emergency planning and basic first aid requirements; to identify workplace risk factors and evaluate their effects on OHS.
Course Content General concepts, purpose, and importance of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Safety culture and an overview of occupational health and safety. OHS legislation and OHS services. Occupational hygiene and hazards at work. Risk factors. Work accidents, occupational diseases, and basic prevention methods. Emergency plans and first aid. Special situations in working life.
